A waveform is a graphic representation of a sound signal’s amplitude over time and is the direct plot of a digital recording, before additional processing is done to create a spectrogram. A waveform is useful for measuring the total amplitude of a recording, while a spectrogram is better suited for displaying frequency information.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Faunatech acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
