An audio signal can be a pure tone or it can contain content at multiple frequencies. A wideband or broadband signal or recording can include signal multiple frequencies at the same time. An example of a wideband signal is a “screechy” bird call that contains a fundamental and many upper harmonics.
A full-spectrum recording is an example of a wideband or broadband recording, meaning it can represent information across many frequencies. A zero-crossing recording cannot contain wideband information, as it can only represent one frequency at any point in time.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Faunatech acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
